Open Source
Open-source packages maintained alongside Knowably, built to share tools and solutions with the developer community.
I build in public. These are the open-source packages I maintain alongside Knowably.
axyr/laravel-langfuse
A Laravel SDK for Langfuse, the open-source observability platform for LLM applications. Traces, spans, generations, scores, and prompt management - all accessible through a clean Laravel API.
I built this because I needed production-grade observability for Knowably's RAG pipeline. Every query passes through 16 steps. When an answer is wrong, I need to see exactly which step made the bad decision - what was retrieved, how it was ranked, what the model received as context. Langfuse gives me that. This package makes it work with Laravel.
The package supports the full Langfuse API: creating traces, nesting spans and generations within them, recording token usage and costs, attaching user feedback as scores, and managing prompt templates. It handles batched API calls so your application is not blocked waiting for observability data to ship.
I use it in every Knowably deployment. It is also how I built the observability features described on this site.
axyr/rechtspraak-solr-mcp-server
A Model Context Protocol server for Dutch case law. It connects to the Rechtspraak (Dutch judiciary) open data API, letting LLM agents search and retrieve court rulings in real time.
I built this for two reasons. First, I wanted to demonstrate that Knowably's MCP integration works with real external data sources - not just document retrieval, but live tool use during generation. Second, Dutch legal data should be more accessible. The Rechtspraak publishes rulings as open data, but their search interface is not designed for integration with AI systems. This MCP server bridges that gap.
The server is used in Knowably's RAG pipeline through Prism Relay. A legal agent configured with this MCP server can search Dutch case law while generating a response - pulling relevant rulings based on the conversation context.
Why Open Source
I maintain these packages because I use them. They solve problems I hit while building Knowably, and open-sourcing them is the fastest way to get feedback, find edge cases, and make them better.
The Laravel AI ecosystem is growing. PHP is not "catching up" to Python - it was always capable of calling an API and doing useful things with the result. These packages are my contribution to proving that.
